Whether you’re an iOS or Android user, or looking to see every word a caller says on your tablet or computer, Hamilton CapTel has a solution for you.

iOS / Apple® Users

The new iOS 11 update to be released by Apple® this fall means thousands of 32-bit apps will no longer work on mobile devices. The Hamilton CapTel app is among those that will not currently function with iOS 11, and therefore is set to be removed from the App Store after August 15th.

What should I do?

We recommend that Apple mobile users who rely upon the popular Hamilton CapTel app delay updating their device so they can continue to make and receive calls with captions. The current Hamilton CapTel app will continue to function with iOS 10 and previous supported versions. The Hamilton CapTel Development Team is working to finalize an updated version of the app that is fully compatible with iOS 11 to be available in the App Store this Fall.

If you’ve already updated to iOS 11, you can continue to use Hamilton CapTel through your browser on a PC/Mac or Tablet. Learn more about our web-based solutions.

Android® Users

Currently all versions of Android operating systems support the use of the Hamilton CapTel app for Android smartphones. You may continue to read captions of what’s being said during phone conversations while you listen and talk with people on the go. The Android app is available on Google Play®.

Hamilton Web CapTel Users

The iOS 11 update on Apple devices does not affect your use of Hamilton CapTel for PC/Mac. There continues to be no special equipment or software to download to use Hamilton Web CapTel. All that’s required is an Internet connection, standard web browser, any telephone (mobile or landline) and a Hamilton CapTel account. Learn more about our web-based solutions.

Hamilton CapTel Phone Users

The iOS 11 update on Apple devices does not affect the use of your Hamilton CapTel phone (840i or 2400i model).
