Register for a Hamilton® CapTel® Account

To process your Hamilton CapTel calls securely and accurately, you must have an active Hamilton CapTel account. This simple, one-time process will guide you through the necessary steps in registering your account.

Captioned Telephone Service is regulated and funded by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)

To use Hamilton CapTel service, the FCC requires that individuals must self-certify that they have a hearing loss and need Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS) to communicate over the telephone. Upon registering, you must acknowledge under penalty of perjury that you:

  • have a hearing loss that necessitates use of the captioned telephone service;
  • understand that captions on captioned telephone service is provided by a live captioning assistant who listens to the other party on the line and provides the text on the captioned phone;
  • understand that the cost of captioning each Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone call is funded through a federal program; and
  • will not permit, to the best of your ability, persons who have not registered to use Internet protocol captioned telephone service to make captioned telephone calls on your registered IP captioned telephone service or device.

Your Hamilton CapTel Account Profile

Some of the information that you provide during the registration process will create your Hamilton CapTel account profile, which will be available via the profile tab. You can update your profile at any time by logging into your account. You can find the Profile tab located in the main menu.

Your Hamilton CapTel Call Me #

Call Me #

After you’ve registered, you’ll have the option to obtain your Hamilton CapTel Call Me #. By establishing your own personal number, callers can dial the number directly, and you’ll receive captions when logged into your account – whether on a PC/Mac, Smartphone or Tablet.
